Failed to Update Firmware / Ice Light 3 Will Not Turn OnUpdated 15 hours ago

If a connection error occurs during the firmware update process and the Ice Light 3 becomes unresponsive, you may find that the unit will not turn back on. 

To restart the firmware update process, follow the steps below: 

  1. Close and reopen the Westcott Studio Link app.
  2. Select LED controls.
  3. While pressing and holding the center button, turn the Ice Light 3 on. The Ice Light 3 Screen should display "Update Firmware via Mobile APP" and your current firmware version. 
  4. When the device name transitions from gray to white inside the Studio Link app, the Ice Light 3 has reconnected.
  5. Once connected, touch the Firmware tab in the bottom right of the Studio Link App. 
  6. Swipe down to refresh the screen if nothing automatically displays; an IL3 listing should display under Paired Devices.
  7. Select the most current firmware version to update the Ice Light 3 Firmware.
  8. After the firmware update is complete, the Ice Light 3 will restart itself and reconnect to the Studio Link app.
