Locking Settings on FJ GearUpdated 15 days ago
FJ flashes and triggers offer locking options to avoid any accidental changes to your settings during a photo session. Locking units will stop the unit settings from changing, either at the flash unit itself or the host trigger.
Locking FJ Speedlights
A screen lock is available in Host, Client, and Speedlight modes for FJ Speedlights. When enabled, settings cannot be adjusted on the unit itself. In Client Mode, adjustments from a host or trigger will still take effect. In Host and Speedlight Modes, the touch screen will be disabled, but flash firing is still enabled.
FJ80, FJ80 II and FJ100 Speedlight

Locking FJ Triggers
Westcott FJ triggers also come with a locking feature that secures the settings on the trigger to prevent accidental changes to the settings. This feature is useful in high-volume shooting situations like School Pictures or headshots where the settings need to remain the same throughout the sessions.

Master Locking FJ Strobes
The Master Lock feature locks the power settings on the strobe unit and disables any power adjustment coming from the trigger.
This can be helpful if you want to adjust your power level on the strobe and not have it affected by manual power changes from the trigger(s).
Your FJ trigger will still synchronize the strobe to your camera, but power adjustments must be made on the strobe itself.
