How do I Connect my FJ-X2 or FJ-X3 Trigger to the Westcott StudioLink App?
You can connect FJ-X triggers to the StudioLink App by enabling Bluetooth® on the trigger and selecting it from the app’s FJ Controls menu. Once paired, you can control supported speedlights and strobes through your phone's app!
The app uses reliable Bluetooth® communication to make remote adjustments faster than navigating menus on-device. This is especially helpful on set when managing multiple groups and channels.
To connect:
- Power on the FJ-X2 or FJ-X3.
- Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on the trigger (Detailed below).
- Open the StudioLink app.
- Select FJ Wireless Controls.
- Choose your trigger/light from the list of available devices.

Note: Be sure you add as many groups as needed. If you have a 3-light setup with each light on a different group, 3 corresponding groups must be added.
How do I Enable Bluetooth® on the FJ-X2 or FJ-X3 Trigger?
Yes, both the FJ-X2 and FJ-X3 include Bluetooth® control, but Bluetooth® must be manually enabled each time the trigger is powered on.
When Bluetooth® is activated, the trigger becomes discoverable in the StudioLink App, allowing remote adjustment of compatible strobes and speedlights.
Enable Bluetooth® on the FJ-X2
- Long-press the Power/Menu to turn the trigger on.
- Press and hold the second and third Menu Selection buttons simultaneously to enter Settings.
- Scroll with the wheel until the Bluetooth® option is highlighted in green.
- Press down on the wheel to highlight [OFF], then rotate the wheel to change to [ON].
- Press OK to return to the main screen.
Enable Bluetooth® on the FJ-X3
- Long-press the Power button to turn the trigger on.
- Hold the SYNC • MENU button to enter Settings.
- Use the Control Pad to navigate to the Bluetooth® option =.
- Press the center button to highlight [OFF], then press the down button once to set to [ON].
- Hold SYNC • MENU to exit.
Note: A Bluetooth® Icon will display on the main page when enabled. It will be green when connected.
Bluetooth® will automatically turn off when the trigger powers down. Repeat these steps each session.
How do I Pair my L60-B, L120-B, or Ice Light 3 With the StudioLink App?
You can pair L-Series COBs and Ice Light 3 by activating Bluetooth® on the fixture and selecting it through LED Controls in the StudioLink App. Pairing gives you quick access to FX, output control, color temperature, and scene storage.
Steps to pair:
L60-B and L120-B
- Turn on your light.
- Open the StudioLink app and tap LED Controls.
- On the light, quickly press the Dim/Bluetooth knob to enable Bluetooth®.
- Long-press the Dim/Bluetooth knob until the Bluetooth® logo blinks (device is discoverable).
- In the app, select Add a Light and tap Add a Light again
- Choose the device from Unpaired Devices.

Ice Light 3
- Turn on your light.
- Open the StudioLink app and tap LED Controls.
- On the light, press and hold the center button for about 4 seconds to enter the settings menu.
- Using the up and down arrows, navigate to Bluetooth®.
- Use the + and - buttons to change the Bluetooth® selection to Reset (device is discoverable).
- In the app, tap Add a Light and tap Add a Light again.
- Choose the device from Unpaired Devices.
The app automatically redirects to My Scene once connected.

How do Scenes Work in the StudioLink App?
Scenes let you save up to 99 complete lighting setups, including COB lights and FJ strobes, so you can instantly return to your preferred configurations.
Scenes are ideal for photographers who repeat lighting setups, want consistent multi-light control, or need fast recall between creative looks.
Scene capabilities include:
- Saving output levels, color temperature, and FX for L-Series COBs
- Saving output, groups, and exposure settings for FJ strobes/speedlights
- Organizing multiple lights into one-tap recall presets
- Managing up to 99 total Scenes
How do I Update Firmware Using the Westcott StudioLink App?
You can update firmware over-the-air (OTA) for Ice Light 3, L60-B, and L120-B directly inside the StudioLink App. Keeping firmware updated ensures the best performance, feature compatibility, and wireless stability.
Steps for OTA firmware updates:
L-60B and L120-B
- Power on your Light.
- Open the StudioLink App.
- Connect the device via Bluetooth®. (Detailed Above)
- In the app, go to Firmware in the My Scene menu at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select your device and choose the newest available firmware. (You may need to swipe down on the screen to refresh the page)
- Tap Update and do not power off the unit while the update process is happening.
Ice Light 3
- Power on your Light.
- Open the StudioLink App.
- Connect the device via Bluetooth® (Detailed above)
- On the light, press and hold the center button for about 4 seconds to enter the settings menu.
- Using the up and down arrows, navigate to Firmware and press the center button to enable firmware update mode.
- In the app, go to Firmware in the My Scene menu at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select your device and choose the newest available firmware.
(You may need to swipe down on the screen to refresh the page) - Tap Update and do not power off the unit while the update process is happening.
Important reminders:
- Use AC power during updates when possible.
- Ensure mobile battery is above 50%.
- Do not unplug or power off the device mid-update.
