What Modifiers can be Used With the L60-B?Updated 10 days ago

What mount does the L60-B use?

The L60-B has a built-in Westcott Mini quick-release mount on the front of the COB, plus a 5/8-inch yoke receiver for stand mounting. An optional “Switch Insert (Westcott Mini, FJ200, L60-B)” adapter lets the light clip into Rapid Box Switch and Beauty Dish Switch softboxes.

Can I put a softbox on the L60-B?

Yes. The Switch Insert (2545) will allow you to use any Rapid Box Switch or Beauty Dish Switch modifier (Octa-S 26″, Octa-M 36″, 1×3 Strip, 2×3 Rectangular, 24″ Beauty Dish, etc.). The light can safely carry Switch modifiers up to 3 lb / 1.4 kg; position the yoke in the center slot to avoid sag.

How do I use umbrellas?

Attach the Gel & Umbrella Reflector Mount and insert any photographic umbrella with a standard 7–8 mm shaft, provided the umbrella-plus-mount stays under the 1.3 lb weight limit. This works with Westcott’s optical-white, silver, deep-parabolic, and Halo series umbrellas.

Is the L60-B Bowens compatible?

Not natively. Instead of a Bowens S-type bayonet, it relies on the Mini mount. Using the Switch system gives you a wide softbox range without adding a bulky adapter. If you need true Bowen's metal reflectors, consider the larger Westcott L120-B.

Any best-practice tips when rigging modifiers?

Mind the weight. Keep total modifier mass ≤ 3 lb on Switch softboxes and ≤ 1.3 lb on the umbrella reflector mount.

Center the yoke. For heavier modifiers, slide the yoke to the middle of the oval bracket before tightening so the light doesn’t tilt forward.

Lock, then test. After twisting a modifier clockwise until it clicks, tug lightly to confirm the Mini mount is fully engaged before powering the light on.
