The FJ400 receives maximum functionality with either the pairing of an FJ Trigger (FJ-X2m, <a href="https://www.fjwestcott.com/products/fj-x3-m-wireless-universal-flash-trigger?_pos=1&amp;_sid=a965b1d03&amp;_ss=r">FJ-X3m</a> and <a href="https://www.fjwestcott.com/products/fj-x3-s-wireless-flash-trigger-for-sony-cameras?_pos=2&amp;_sid=a965b1d03&amp;_ss=r">FJ-X3s</a>) the FJ80 Speed Lights or Canon ST-E3-RT radio triggers.
Other triggers can be used to trigger the FJ400 provided they offer an option for output to a 3.5mm male connector and a separate receiver unit.
Typically, remote power adjustment, TTL, and HSS functionality are not available on these other triggers when used with the FJ400. Most will provide camera flash synchronization in the normal shutter speed sync range.&#xA0;&#xA0;
